"Drought" / 16x40 oil on canvas

About Dee Schulten:

I began painting after teaching high school English for 31 years. Thanks to my oil painting instructors at the Arkansas Arts Center's Museum School, I discovered a love of color and abstract form. I always wanted to paint; now I have time to slather at will.

My painting "Drought" was chosen for the prestigious 57th Annual Delta Exhibition at the Arkansas Arts Center. My painting "Hot Times" was selected for inclusion in the South Arkansas Arts Center's 2013 Juried Art Competition and was sold during the exhibition. I've sold paintings at the annual Museum School Sale, Little Rock's Second Friday Art Night, the Arkansas Repertory Theater's ARTWORKS exhibition, the Delta Visual Arts Festival in Newport, AR, and other venues. I also have sold to private collectors in Arkansas, Texas, Iowa, Kansas City, and New York City.

Nine other artists and I have formed Co-Op Art, a studio/gallery space, located in the Tanglewood Shopping Center on the corner of Mississippi and Cantrell in Little Rock.
